We give you complete control over your web site. When you create your new account all information is sent to you in a text file which allows you total control over ALL aspects of your domain and passwords.

How do I change to your server?

Firstly complete an on line order please click here.
Then you need to change your present dns or name servers over to ours.

To find out how to do this or if you need help please contact us.

If you wish us to upload your present site to our servers please tell us. There is a small charge for this service.

If you also wish us to change your name servers again please contact us above. If this is easy and simple then there is no charge. For any complicated changes due to incorrect admin contacts etc then we will make a pre notified charge.

What about emails and my email addresses on my present server?

When you change servers ANY email stored on your old server (not on your pc), along with your address book (not on your pc) will be lost so please save this or back it up first onto your personal computer. You should save your address book as a .CSV  (windows comma separated values) file onto your personal pc which can then be easily imported into your new email account on your domain web site.

The other way is to open a FREE account at WWW. PHUKETEMAIL.COM first and forward all of your emails to that account.

We also offer IMAP for your e mail services. www.imap.org for more information.
Our on line web mail also allows for secure server e mail.

What is unlimited bandwidth?

Bandwidth is calculated as being for general day to day normal server usages. For any site that exceeds bandwidth due to unnatural or unusual usage excess charges may be applied. Examples of this maybe a high activity of downloads (where the usage is not in relation to site visits,) or use of an installed chat room already on our system (again where the usage is not in relation to site visits.)
Although we offer, in some packages, unlimited bandwidth, there is a ceiling of 10gb per month which is well in excess of normal requirements for most sites. If you think you may exceed this then please contact us.
Any scripts that you may have installed which cause server instabilities will be removed after prior notice has been given to disable them. Especially notorious for this are php scripts that at times use excess bandwidth.

Chat Rooms.

We offer 3 pre installed chat rooms. PHP Mychat, Java Chat and HTML Chat. No other chat rooms may be used on the server as they are well know system hogs. The preinstalled chat rooms may not be modified in a way that may cause excessive usage or server instability.

Do you support asp (active server pages)?

Yes as they are included in our windows server packages.
We do support most other extensions including php.

What are auto responders?

You can set up auto responders to automatically respond to incoming email.
For example, if you had an order form which your clients email to you,
you can set up an auto responder to email the client a confirmation message that their message was received.

Do you offer dial-up Internet access?

Please contact us for ADSL, ISDN and modem dial up.

What are email aliases?

Email aliases are email addresses that you create.
Any mail sent to these aliases would automatically be forwarded to your existing POP email account or redirected to another third party POP account.

Your mail account is pre-configured to "Catch All" email directed at anyname@yourdomain.com.

Do you offer online E-Mail browser interface?

We offer 3 options for this purpose.
One very powerful interface called Horde.
The others are  very easy to use interfaces called Neo and Squirrel
All Email accounts can be used either as POP3 with your own PC or they can be used on line with your browser.

Do you have a database system? 

We use MySQL 3.23.54 because it is a relatively easy-to-use database program.
PhpMyAdmin is installed on the server.

Does Asian Servers offer SSI?

SSI is on all of our servers. You just need to be aware that you call your files with the .shtml extension..

Do you support wildcards or sub domains?

We do not support wildcards. You can create subdomains for your account mydomain.com like sub.mydomain.com

If you want to have sub.mydomain.com point to the main index page or mydomain.com there is no additional charge. Parked and additional domains are available.

Does Asian Servers use Unix or NT/Windows servers?

Asian Servers now offers both server platforms.

What are FrontPage extensions and do you support them?

All of our hosting plans support FrontPage 98, 2000 and 2002/3.

Can I access my domain address without the "www"?

Yes, you can access your domain address with or without the "www" in front of the domain name.
The "www" is a tertiary domain name that isn't necessary if your nameserver is set up properly.

Do you offer SSL encryption for transferring credit card information?

YES! Our servers are equipped with the latest SSL technology so you can safely sell your products or services online! Normally, any text sent from your browser is sent as plain text.
This means that a hacker could potentially intercept the information sent from your browser and read it.

By using the secure server (SSL), the information is encrypted before it is sent. We will provide you with the name of the server when your account is activated!
We also offer secure e mail servers for this feature.

Can you upload my present site for me?

Yes we are very happy to do so. However you should note that any existing data base will probably not be uploaded.
However this depends on how your database is currently set up.
Also your POP 3 e mail accounts will have to be reinstated on the new server.
We make a one time charge for this service subject to the complexity of your site.

Can I upload pages frequently? 

Each account comes with an FTP/Telnet account. You have full access to your space via FTP 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The file manager in your control panel can also be used to upload pages to your site if you do not have access to FTP.

What is a cgi-bin and how do I get one?

A CGI-bin is where you store CGI scripts. These scripts are used to generate online order forms, guestbooks, shopping carts, counters and more.
All Asian Servers hosting packages include their own CGI-bin.

What CGI Scripts come already installed?

All Asian Servers hosting packages come with a hit counter, a search engine, a site creation tool, chat rooms, a form e-mailer and a file manager. If you are interested in adding more CGI scripts to your account, you may do so. We are constantly adding more features to the server.

Will my Macintosh work with my Asian Servers account? 

Yes. Our servers use standard protocols such as FTP, Telnet, SSH, and HTTP that are compatible with Macintosh operating systems. What is local support? Reply by e mail to all requests as to the use of control panel and other
facilities on the server. Each control panel has a help data base
which you can use at any time. Please note we do not class local support
as teaching you how to make and use databases, web pages, writing scripts etc.
Local support is based on the facilities and any future facilities already installed on our servers. We can provide local support for any third party items that you may install on the server subject to their complexity. You may also call our mobile phone or night time help line.
Emergency requests for e mail and domain unavailability
should be made to our mobile phone for instant response.
 

What is the Account Control Panel?

The Account Control Panel makes managing your web space fun and easy.
This extraordinary interface offers you a way to quickly view account-related information and provides easy access to the wide variety of tools and utilities that come with your account.
With the click of a mouse, you can administer your web space, e-mail accounts, directories, cgi-bin (program script storage area) and all the special features offered, including site statistics and shopping carts. You can even add additional features to your account whenever you need them.
Gain control and flexibility to make changes within your own time frame and according to your own particular business needs.

Do you host foreign domains?

es. All domain names will work with Asian Servers accounts.
